Description: In 2016, geologist Kristian Eikjord becomes a hero for his actions during the tsunami in Geiranger. Three years later, he faces personal struggles as his wife, Idun, divorces him, and he becomes estranged from their children, Sondre and Julia. Kristian lives in isolation above the rebuilt Geiranger, while his family relocates to Oslo. Idun works at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel. Haunted by the guilt of the tsunami’s 250 fatalities, Kristian maintains a secret room in his home dedicated to the disaster, further straining his family relationships.
When Kristian learns of his colleague Konrad Lindblom’s death in the Oslofjord Tunnel collapse, he travels to Oslo with Konrad’s research to investigate. He meets Konrad’s supervisor, Johannes Løberg, who dismisses the seismic activity concerns as mere construction blasting. However, Kristian remains skeptical. Visiting Konrad’s home, Kristian meets his daughter, Marit, and uncovers research revealing more severe seismic activity than Johannes admitted. Despite sharing his findings, Kristian’s concerns are ignored.
Kristian reconnects with Idun and their children, attending Julia’s ballet recital. During a power outage, tension rises. The next day, Kristian discovers further alarming research in Konrad’s home and persuades Marit to join him in the Oslofjord Tunnel, where they find a core sample Konrad was studying before his death.
