Description: When the Little Red-Haired Girl moves into the neighborhood, Charlie Brown becomes deeply infatuated with her. However, he worries that his history of failures might prevent her from noticing him. Encouraged by Lucy, who suggests he should be more confident, Charlie Brown decides to try out a series of new activities in hopes of catching the Little Red-Haired Girl’s attention. With the help of his loyal dog Snoopy and Woodstock, he performs a magic act at the school talent show but has to abandon it to assist his sister, Sally, with her performance.
Determined to impress her, Charlie Brown signs up for the school dance and learns Snoopy’s best moves. Initially, he earns praise for his dancing skills but accidentally triggers the sprinkler system, cutting the dance short and causing everyone to look down on him once again. Later, Charlie Brown is paired with the Little Red-Haired Girl for a book report. When she leaves for a week due to a family illness, he takes on the task alone, choosing the challenging novel *War and Peace*. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown discovers he’s the only student to score perfectly on a standardized test, gaining temporary popularity. However, during a school assembly, it’s revealed the test was mistakenly mixed up, and the perfect score actually belonged to Peppermint Patty. Charlie Brown admits the error and declines the medal, losing his newfound status. To make matters worse, his book report is destroyed, and he confesses to the Little Red-Haired Girl that he’s caused them both to fail the assignment.
In a parallel storyline, Snoopy writes a novel about his World War I Flying Ace persona, inspired by Charlie Brown’s adventures. The story follows Snoopy as he attempts to rescue Fifi from the Red Baron, with Woodstock and his friends lending a hand. Snoopy eventually defeats the Red Baron and saves Fifi, completing his tale. When Lucy criticizes the story as “dumb,” Snoopy playfully retaliates by licking her.
