Description: After the tragic loss of her son Oliver in a car accident in India, Maria Harwood struggles to cope with the grief and guilt. During the accident, Maria saved her younger daughter Lucy, unable to free Oliver, whose leg was trapped. Overwhelmed by remorse, Maria attempts suicide and is later found unconscious by her husband, Michael. At the hospital, Maria is comforted by her housekeeper, Piki, who offers her a chance to say goodbye to Oliver. Piki shares her own story of losing a daughter in a drowning incident and reveals a ritual involving an abandoned temple where the boundary between the living and the dead is thin. She instructs Maria to scatter Oliver’s ashes on the temple steps, lock herself inside, and listen to Oliver’s voice at night, but warns her never to open the door. Maria agrees, and Oliver’s body is exhumed and cremated. At the temple, Maria encounters strange ash-covered men, whom Piki explains are shamans who strengthen their connection to the spirit world. Inside, Maria discovers a mummified corpse. At night, Oliver speaks to Maria, who apologizes for leaving him. Despite his pleas to open the door, Maria resists until her emotions take over, and she opens it—only to find no one there. She returns home with closure but keeps her actions a secret from Piki. Soon, strange events begin to unfold.
