**Storyline:**
In Seoul, two English-speaking kidnappers seize a man and a woman, holding them hostage in a Yangjae-dong residence. Ha Chae-youn, a skilled crisis negotiator from the Seoul Metropolitan Police, is assigned to handle the situation despite objections from her superior, Captain Jung Jun-gu. As Chae-youn engages in negotiations, Jung dispatches a police team to eliminate the kidnappers, leading to a violent confrontation. In retaliation, the kidnappers kill the hostages in front of Chae-youn before being neutralized by Jung’s team.
Devastated by the ordeal, Chae-youn considers resigning from the force. However, Jung grants her time to reconsider before departing on a business trip. Soon, Chae-youn is summoned urgently by Superintendent Ahn Hyuk-su to address another hostage crisis. At a secret location, she meets with Police Commissioner Moon Jong-hyuk and Presidential Secretary Gong, who task her with negotiating Min Tae-gu, a UK-based arms dealer holding several Korean nationals, including reporter Lee Su-mok. During negotiations via video conferencing, Chae-youn is shocked to discover that Jung has also been kidnapped by Min.
Chae-youn learns the hostages are being held on an island in the Malacca Straits, where a joint military-police operation is underway. Min demands to speak with Yong Dong-hoon, Lee’s boss, and forces Dong-hoon to admit that Lee is not a reporter but an NIS agent sent to spy on Min’s gang. In a fit of rage, Min executes Jung, leaving Chae-youn grief-stricken. Determined to uncover the truth, she confronts the NIS, only to find that Min has taken an entire family hostage. Despite initial failures, Chae-youn is called back to negotiate with Min once again, striving to bring the crisis to an end.
