In 2049, a catastrophic event devastates Earth, wiping out most of its population with intense radiation. Augustine, now stationed in the Arctic, remains at his base despite his declining health, determined to warn the returning Æther spacecraft about Earth’s dire state. The crew, unaware of the disaster, is on their way back from exploring K-23, a habitable moon Augustine previously discovered. Struggling with weak communication equipment, Augustine finds Iris, a silent young girl in the station. After figuring out her name and forming a bond, Augustine and Iris embark on a journey to a more powerful base to reach the astronauts.
