**Storyline:**
Ila Sehgal, a young wife, seeks to rekindle the romance in her marriage by preparing delicious lunches for her husband, Rajeev Sehgal. She sends the lunchbox through Mumbai’s famous “dabbawalas,” a reliable system that delivers meals from homes or restaurants to people at work. However, due to a mix-up, the lunchbox intended for her husband is mistakenly delivered to Saajan Fernandes, a widower on the verge of retirement from his job as an accountant.
Realizing the mistake, Ila, prompted by her upstairs neighbor, decides to include a letter in the next lunchbox she prepares, explaining the mix-up. This begins an exchange of letters and meals between Ila and Saajan, sparking a heartfelt friendship. Through their letters, they share personal stories and moments from their lives.
At work, Saajan is assigned to train his replacement, Aslam Sheikh, an orphan whose initial incompetence frustrates him. However, as they spend more time together, Saajan and Aslam form a close bond, with Saajan even saving Aslam’s job by covering up his mistakes.
Meanwhile, Ila discovers her husband’s infidelity and loses hope in her marriage. In one of her letters, she suggests relocating to Bhutan, where living costs are lower. Saajan responds, proposing they move there together. Ila arranges to meet him in person at a popular restaurant, but Saajan fails to approach her, choosing to watch from a distance instead. The next day, he apologizes in a letter, explaining his hesitation.
