Description: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a 2002 fantasy film. The story begins with Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee waking from a dream of Gandalf battling the Balrog in Moria. Lost in the Emyn Muil near Mordor, they realize they are being followed by Gollum, a former bearer of the One Ring. After capturing him, Frodo decides to spare Gollum and enlists his help to navigate their journey into Mordor.
Meanwhile, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli track a band of Uruk-hai to rescue their friends Merry and Pippin. Their pursuit leads them to the kingdom of Rohan. The Uruk-hai are ambushed by Rohirrim soldiers, allowing the hobbits to escape into Fangorn Forest. The group encounters Éomer, who reveals he has been exiled by King Théoden, now manipulated by Saruman and his servant Gríma Wormtongue. While searching for the hobbits in Fangorn, they meet Gandalf, who has returned as Gandalf the White to aid in the fight for Middle-earth.
Gandalf guides the trio to Edoras, where he frees Théoden from Saruman’s influence. Though Aragorn prevents Théoden from executing Wormtongue, the servant flees. Learning of Saruman’s plan to destroy Rohan with his Uruk-hai army, Théoden evacuates his people to the fortress of Helm’s Deep. Gandalf leaves to rally Éomer and his men, while Aragorn forms a bond with Théoden’s niece, Éowyn. During an attack by Saruman’s Warg-riding Orcs, Aragorn falls from a cliff and is presumed dead. However, he is found by his horse Brego and rides to Helm’s Deep, where he witnesses Saruman’s army advancing.
The film is a thrilling continuation of the epic journey in the Lord of the Rings saga.
