Description: “The Kissing Booth” (2018) tells the story of Elle Evans and Lee Flynn, lifelong best friends due to their mothers’ close bond. Growing up, they share a passion for dancing, particularly on an arcade machine inspired by *Dance Dance Revolution*. At 11, Elle’s mother becomes terminally ill, passing away three years later. As Elle matures, she develops a growing crush on Lee’s older brother, Noah, but does her best to suppress her feelings.
During junior year, Elle becomes the center of attention after her school uniform pants split, forcing her to wear an old skirt. An older student, Tuppen, inappropriately slaps her, prompting Noah to intervene and fight him. All three receive detention, where Tuppen apologizes. Elle later accepts a date request from Tuppen, but he doesn’t show up, revealing that Noah had warned others not to pursue her.
Elle and Lee come up with the idea of a “Kissing Booth” for their school fundraiser. At a party, Elle falsely claims Noah will participate, though he had already declined. On the event day, Lee takes Noah’s place, disappointing the crowd. Rachel kisses Lee, leaving Elle in charge of the booth. The “OMG Girls” (Olivia, Mia, and Gwyneth) set Elle up to kiss an undesirable student, but at the last moment, Noah steps in, surprising Elle. Their kiss captivates the crowd, leading to a second kiss in front of everyone.
