Description: “The Kissing Booth 2” (2020) follows the story of Elle as she navigates her senior year of high school while maintaining a long-distance relationship with Noah, who has left for Harvard. The film begins with Elle reflecting on their time together before his departure. As rumors circulate among her classmates about the inevitable end of their relationship, Elle grows increasingly insecure, especially when she notices Noah has befriended an attractive girl named Chloe on social media.
Meanwhile, Elle and her best friend Lee are preparing to organize the kissing booth for the upcoming Charity Fair. Lee tries to convince Elle to include Marco Peña, a charming new transfer student, as one of the participants. After Elle beats Marco in a dance game, he agrees to join the booth.
Noah encourages Elle to apply to Harvard, which conflicts with her plans to attend the University of California, Berkeley, alongside Lee. Without informing Lee, Elle decides to apply to Harvard.
During a visit to Boston, Elle meets Noah’s new friends, including Chloe, which further heightens her insecurities. When she discovers an earring under Noah’s bed, she confronts him, leading to a heated discussion. Noah reassures her of his loyalty, but Elle’s doubts linger.
Back at home, Elle learns from her father that paying for college will be a challenge. Determined to help, she and Lee prepare for a dance competition with a cash prize. However, Lee fakes an injury during practice and suggests Marco become Elle’s dance partner instead. Reluctantly, Elle agrees, and as they spend more time together, a growing attraction develops between them.
Unaware of their growing bond, Lee struggles to balance his relationship with Rachel, as Elle’s constant presence leaves little room for them to connect as a couple. After an incident where Elle leaves Rachel waiting at the movies, Rachel asks Lee to address the issue, but he fails to do so.
