Description: Upon learning of her boyfriend Ben’s sudden death in an accident, Charlotte, who is pregnant, collapses. She wakes up in Ben’s parents’ old manor, where his mother Margaret and stepbrother Thomas insist on caring for her until the baby is born. Struggling with pregnancy-induced hallucinations and the grief of losing Ben, Charlotte agrees to stay. However, as time goes on and her visions grow more intense, she begins to suspect that the family’s intentions may not be as benevolent as they appear.
In another story, Helen is seen running frantically out of a high-rise building. Outside, she witnesses something falling from above and is struck by a car in her shock. A year later, she awakens from a coma to discover it was her father Robert’s body that had fallen, and that she gave birth to a daughter, Heidi, while unconscious. Her husband, Greg, has been caring for the child during her recovery. Writer Christian J. Hearn and director Jamie Patterson weave a tale that begins as a drama, focusing on Helen’s physical rehabilitation and her struggle to adapt to motherhood. However, she is haunted by a gap in her memory surrounding the events of that fateful night, and she feels she cannot move forward until she uncovers the truth.
Adding to her challenges, financial difficulties force the family to move into her father’s old apartment, a constant reminder of the tragedy. As Heidi begins to develop unexplained bruises and Helen experiences visions of ghostly children, it seems she may be succumbing to stress and postpartum issues.
