Description: The 2003 film *The Italian Job* tells the story of a daring heist and its aftermath. John Bridger, a skilled safecracker, leads a team to steal $35 million worth of gold bullion from Italian gangsters in Venice. The team includes Charlie Croker, a fixer; Lyle, known as “Napster,” a computer expert; Handsome Rob, their getaway driver; Steve, their inside man; and Left Ear, the explosives specialist. While the heist is successful, Steve betrays them, takes the gold, and kills John. The team barely escapes, with Handsome Rob driving their van off a bridge to save them.
A year later, in the United States, Charlie discovers that Steve has resurfaced with a new identity and is laundering the stolen gold through a Ukrainian jeweler named Yevhen in Los Angeles. Charlie reassembles the team, including John’s daughter Stella, a proficient safecracker seeking revenge for her father’s death. After staking out Steve’s mansion, Stella, posing as a cable technician, maps the interior to locate the safe containing the gold. The team devises a plan to steal it back, using three modified Mini Coopers to transport the gold and explosives to blow the safe open. They also enlist the help of suppliers Skinny Pete and mechanic Wrench.
Meanwhile, Steve’s actions catch the attention of Mashkov, the leader of a Ukrainian crime family, after Steve kills Yevhen to cover his tracks. This sets the stage for a high-stakes confrontation as the team executes their plan amidst growing danger.
