The film’s soundtrack, curated by Big Machine Records, includes a multi-genre selection. Scott Borchetta, the label’s founder, envisioned a psychobilly theme and enlisted Nikki Sixx to executive produce. Sixx formed the supergroup L.A. Rats with Rob Zombie, John 5, and Tommy Clufetos, releasing a cover of “I’ve Been Everywhere” as a single on May 21, 2021. Gary LeVox’s debut solo track, “We Got Fight,” was featured in the film’s end credits, released on May 26.
Filming took place in February 2020 in Winnipeg, with additional scenes shot in Île-des-Chênes and Gimli, Manitoba. Netflix secured the U.S. distribution rights for $18 million in March 2021, making the film available digitally from June 25, 2021. Reviews on Rotten Tomatoes show a 22% approval rating, with an average score of 4.1/10 based on nine critiques.
