**Storyline:**
In 2004, Sergeant First Class William James arrives in Iraq to lead a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit during the Iraq War. He replaces Staff Sergeant Matthew Thompson, who was killed by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Baghdad. His team includes Sergeant J.T. Sanborn and Specialist Owen Eldridge.
James frequently interacts with an Iraqi boy nicknamed “Beckham,” who sells DVDs. He forms a bond with the boy after challenging him to a football match. However, Sanborn and Eldridge grow increasingly frustrated with James’ reckless and unconventional methods, leading to growing tensions.
During one mission, James retrieves his gloves from a detonation site, prompting Sanborn to consider killing him by “accidentally” triggering the explosives. Although this doesn’t happen, the rift between the team members deepens.
Later, the team encounters a group of British private military contractors, resulting in a tense confrontation. During a warehouse raid, James discovers a body he believes is Beckham, with a bomb surgically implanted inside. The mission takes a tragic turn when Lieutenant Colonel John Cambridge, a psychiatrist and friend of Eldridge, is killed in an explosion. Blaming himself, Eldridge struggles with guilt.
In a moment of vengeance, James breaks into the home of an Iraqi professor, suspecting his involvement in Beckham’s death, but his search yields no answers. The film explores the psychological toll of war and the complexities of human behavior in extreme situations.
