**Storyline:**
Queen Ravenna, an evil sorceress, discovers that her younger sister, Princess Freya, is having a secret affair with a nobleman named Andrew and is pregnant with his child. After giving birth to a baby girl, Freya is devastated to find that Andrew has killed their child. Overwhelmed by grief and rage, her powers of ice manipulation awaken, and she kills him. Heartbroken and frozen in despair, Freya flees to the icy northern mountains, where she establishes her own kingdom as the feared Ice Queen.
To build her empire, Freya orders the abduction of children and the execution of their parents, training the children to become an army of huntsmen. She teaches them to avoid love, believing it to be a source of pain. Despite her teachings, two of her best huntsmen, Eric and Sara, fall in love. They plan to escape together, but Freya discovers their betrayal. Sara is seemingly killed, while Eric is severely beaten and thrown into a river.
