Description: In “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2,” Katniss Everdeen recovers from an attack by Peeta Mellark, who has been brainwashed. She is held in District 13, where President Coin prevents her from going to the Capitol until they secure District 2. Instead, Katniss is sent to assist in an assault on the Capitol’s armory in District 2, the last district under Capitol control. While she succeeds in rallying the rebels and convincing District 2 to join the rebellion, she is shot by a civilian but survives due to her bulletproof Mockingjay suit.
Johanna helps Katniss sneak onto a helicopter headed for the Capitol. Although Coin is aware of Katniss’s defiance, she allows it to proceed. Katniss joins the Star Squad, which includes Gale and Finnick, who has recently married. Peeta, still struggling with his recovery, is brought along to appear in propaganda videos. Led by Boggs, the team navigates through the Capitol, avoiding deadly traps known as “pods” with the help of Boggs’ holographic map, the Holo. When Boggs is fatally injured, he entrusts the Holo to Katniss. The squad triggers another pod, releasing a flood of black tar, and Peeta, influenced by his conditioning, attacks Katniss, resulting in Mitchell’s death.
Katniss refuses to kill Peeta, though Gale claims he would if necessary. The group becomes trapped in a building by Peacekeepers. The Leeg sisters sacrifice themselves to allow the rest to escape. The Capitol broadcasts a false message announcing Katniss’s death, which Coin uses to deliver a powerful eulogy and inspire the rebels. The team then travels through the sewers, where they are ambushed by genetically engineered mutts, killing several members, including Finnick. Katniss uses the Holo to create an explosion, destroying the mutts. They escape the sewers and find refuge in a house owned by Tigris, a former Hunger Games stylist.
