Description: “The Human Centipede (First Sequence)” is a 2009 horror film that follows the harrowing tale of two American tourists, Lindsay (Ashley C. Williams) and Jenny (Ashlynn Yennie), who find themselves stranded in Germany after their car gets a flat tire. Seeking help, they approach the home of Dr. Josef Heiter (Dieter Laser), a deranged surgeon. Unbeknownst to them, they are drugged and taken captive.
Upon waking in a makeshift medical ward, the women witness the ruthless Dr. Heiter murder a kidnapped truck driver, whom he deems “not a match” for his twisted experiments. He then captures a Japanese tourist, Katsuro (Akihiro Kitamura), and reveals his macabre plan. Known for his expertise in separating conjoined twins, Heiter now dreams of creating a new creature by surgically connecting people mouth-to-anus, forcing them to share a single digestive system.
When Lindsay attempts to escape and fails, Heiter decides to place her in the middle of the “centipede,” the most excruciating position. He performs the surgery, positioning Katsuro at the front, Lindsay in the middle, and Jenny at the rear. He removes the front teeth of both women and mutilates the buttocks of Katsuro and Lindsay to graft their mouths to the rectums of the person ahead of them. He also severs the ligaments in their knees to prevent them from walking, forcing them to crawl.
The newly created “centipede” is left half-naked, with Katsuro and Lindsay bandaged for healing, while Jenny is given underwear. Bandages also cover their knees to aid in crawling. Once the operation is complete, Heiter proudly displays his creation in his living room, waking each segment, taking photos, and even passing a mirror around for them to see their horrifying new form.
