Description: “The Hills Have Eyes” (2006) is a gripping horror film that follows retired detective Bob Carter and his wife, Ethel, as they travel through the New Mexico desert to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary. Accompanied by their three children—Lynn, Brenda, and Bobby—as well as Lynn’s husband, Doug, their baby daughter, Catherine, and their two German Shepherds, Beauty and Beast, the family encounters a series of terrifying events.
After stopping at a gas station where the attendant suggests a shortcut through the hills, the family’s vehicle is sabotaged by a hidden spike strip, causing a crash. Stranded in the desert, Bob and Doug set off in opposite directions to seek help. Meanwhile, the rest of the family stays behind at the trailer. When their dog Beauty goes missing, Bobby discovers her mutilated body in the hills and is soon confronted by the horrifying presence of mutants.
As the family begins to realize they are not alone, the mutants—led by the ruthless Papa Jupiter—launch a series of brutal attacks. Bob uncovers the dark history of the area, linked to nuclear testing by the U.S. government, which caused the mutants’ deformities. The family must fight for survival as they face unimaginable horrors in the desolate landscape.
The film is a chilling exploration of human resilience and the monstrous consequences of environmental experimentation.
