It is based on the real-life robbery of the Banco Río branch in Acassuso, Buenos Aires, which took place on January 13, 2006. The film follows the story of six robbers who, armed with toy weapons, took 23 hostages and stole $15 million from 147 safes.
The production of the film began on April 15, 2019, in Buenos Aires and concluded on June 4 of the same year in Potrerillos, Mendoza. It was released on January 16, 2020. After its first full week, total ticket sales reached 634,000, and the film ultimately attracted over two million viewers.
