Description: The Fare 2018 is a film that follows the story of Harris Caron, a cab driver navigating a mysterious night. While listening to a radio show about time-traveling aliens altering reality, he picks up a passenger named Penny, who requests a ride to the corner of River and Elm. Their lighthearted and flirtatious conversation is abruptly interrupted when Penny suddenly vanishes from the back seat, leaving Harris baffled. After contacting dispatch for guidance, he is advised to reset the trip and return to the city.
As Harris resets the odometer, the sequence of events repeats itself, though Penny does not reveal her name this time. After a crash damages the car’s barrier, Harris instinctively grabs Penny’s hand and calls her by her name, even though she never shared it. She urges him to remember her before disappearing once again. This time, Harris starts to recall fragments of previous trips, realizing he has met Penny before.
Penny explains that they are stuck in a time loop, reliving the same ride countless times, with Harris always forgetting their encounters. With each subsequent trip, their bond deepens, and their conversations become more personal. Despite her humorous stories about her career, Penny eventually reveals her true profession in horticulture, which aligns with her floral-themed appearance.
The Fare 2018 is a tale of mystery, connection, and the unraveling of a time-loop puzzle.
