Description: Kevin Lomax, a defense attorney in Gainesville, Florida, has never lost a case. He represents schoolteacher Lloyd Gettys, accused of child molestation, and later realizes his client is guilty. Despite this, Kevin discredits the victim during cross-examination, securing a “not guilty” verdict. A New York City law firm then recruits him for a high-profile jury selection, and after success, John Milton, the firm’s head, offers Kevin a lucrative position. Kevin moves to Manhattan with his wife, Mary Ann, but becomes consumed by work, leaving her isolated. Kevin’s mother urges them to return home, but he refuses.
When billionaire Alex Cullen is accused of multiple murders, Milton assigns Kevin to the case. The workload further strains Kevin’s marriage, and he becomes infatuated with a colleague, Christabella. Mary Ann begins having disturbing visions and nightmares, learning from a doctor that she is infertile. She pleads with Kevin to return to Gainesville, but he prioritizes the case, fearing resentment if he steps down. Meanwhile, Eddie Barzoon, the firm’s managing partner, grows suspicious of Kevin’s rising status and discovers his name on the firm’s charter. After threatening to expose the firm’s activities, Eddie is brutally killed by demonic figures, witnessed by Mary Ann, deepening her distress.
