Description: In the beginning, Lucifer leads a rebellion of fallen angels against God, resulting in their defeat and banishment to Hell. Michael, the Archangel of Justice, travels to Hell to imprison Lucifer permanently, refusing his plea to join forces.
In the modern era, the Shroud of Turin is displayed in an exhibit, where Lauren Milton, a student writing a thesis on good and evil, gains access through her friend, Father Marconi. Marconi recounts the battle between angels while showing her a statue of Michael defeating Lucifer. Though skeptical, Lauren stays to sketch the artwork.
Elsewhere, Doctor Laurent presents his biotech firm, which claims to focus on genetic cloning to resurrect historical geniuses like Michelangelo and Da Vinci. However, the firm secretly harbors a cult aiming to free Lucifer and his demons from Hell to avenge their rebellion.
The cult’s leader, a sinister figure named Liz, infiltrates the Shroud of Turin exhibit, kills a guard, and uses his head to disable the security system. Marconi witnesses the attack but is fatally stabbed by Liz. Lauren hides in a confession booth but is eventually captured. Before dying, Marconi asks Michael to inhabit his body to stop the cult. Michael complies and leaves the city.
Later, Michael encounters a Scholar who initially holds him at gunpoint but realizes he is the Archangel. The Scholar shares a prophecy about a wicked woman and a beast of the Earth who will bring a child into the world to serve as Lucifer’s vessel.
