Description: “The Day Shall Come” is a 2019 film that tells the story of Moses Al Shabazz, the impoverished leader of a small religious group called the Star of Six in Miami. The group, which includes his wife Venus and followers X and Afrika, worships various deities, including Allah, “Black Santa,” and General Toussaint Louverture. Moses preaches a black uprising against white oppressors but rejects the use of firearms. Despite being prescribed anti-psychotic medication, he avoids taking it, claiming it makes him drowsy.
The plot thickens when FBI agent Kendra Glack discovers one of Moses’ live-streamed sermons and decides he would be the perfect target to frame for revolutionary activities. After Moses receives an eviction notice, Kendra sends Reza, an undercover informant with a questionable past, to convince Moses that a sheikh linked to Al-Qaeda is willing to fund and arm his cause. Moses initially requests farm equipment and a horse but later agrees to accept 50 Kalashnikov rifles after realizing their potential value.
Concerned about Moses’ involvement, Venus leaves the commune with their daughter. Meanwhile, Moses interprets a lightning strike that destroys a crane as a divine sign. On the day of the weapons exchange, the FBI plans to arrest Moses for the illegal deal. However, he rides to the FBI headquarters on his horse, attempting to turn in the dealers for a reward. Kendra shows sympathy but offers no help. Upon returning to the commune, Moses finds his followers evicted. His landlord offers to let him stay in exchange for acquiring weapons-grade uranium, which the FBI uses as an opportunity to frame him for attempting to use a nuclear device.
