Description: The Da Vinci Code is a 2006 film that follows the thrilling story of symbologist Robert Langdon. The plot begins with Jacques Saunière, a curator at the Louvre, being chased through the Grand Gallery by Silas, an albino Catholic monk. Silas demands the location of the Priory’s “keystone,” believed to lead to the Holy Grail. After providing false information, Saunière is killed, and his body is discovered posed similarly to Da Vinci’s *Vitruvian Man*. Captain Bezu Fache brings in Robert Langdon, an American expert in symbology, to examine the scene.
Langdon discovers a hidden message visible only under blacklight, containing a jumbled Fibonacci sequence. Sophie Neveu, a cryptographer and Saunière’s granddaughter, warns Langdon that Fache suspects him of the murder. Together, they evade the police and uncover further clues hidden in Leonardo da Vinci’s works, revealing Saunière’s role as the grand master of the Priory of Sion.
Meanwhile, Silas, working for an enigmatic figure known as “the Teacher,” collaborates with members of Opus Dei. Langdon and Sophie travel to the Depository Bank of Zurich, where they access Saunière’s safe deposit box using the Fibonacci sequence. Inside, they find a cryptex—a device containing a message on papyrus that can only be opened by entering the correct code.
With the police closing in, Langdon and Sophie narrowly escape an attempt by the bank manager, Andre Vernet, to steal the cryptex and kill them. They then seek the help of Sir Leigh Teabing, a Holy Grail scholar, to uncover the secrets of the cryptex and its connection to the legendary Holy Grail.
