Storyline:
Nick Eliot, a 28-year-old writer, lands a job at Pique magazine and moves into a guest house owned by Cliff and Liv Forrester. Soon, their 14-year-old daughter, Adrian, develops an intense infatuation with Nick. Adrian invites him to a party at her parents’ house, where she impresses him with her piano skills. Later, she takes him on a drive to a secluded spot and tries to kiss him, but Nick stops her and takes her home.
Despite Nick’s efforts to distance himself, Adrian’s obsession grows. She sneaks into his apartment, rewrites his article, and even undresses in front of him. When Nick begins dating his coworker, Amy, Adrian becomes increasingly destructive, stealing his belongings, vandalizing his car, and sabotaging his computer files.
Adrian’s friend, Cheyenne, tries to warn Nick, but Adrian ensures she has a dangerous “accident.” After Adrian sees Nick with Amy, she locks Amy in a darkroom and releases a wasp nest, exploiting Amy’s fear of wasps. Nick struggles to convince Adrian’s parents of her troubling behavior as her actions escalate.
