**Storyline:**
On Devil’s Night, October 30, in Detroit, Sergeant Albrecht arrives at a crime scene where Shelly Webster has been brutally beaten and raped. Her fiancé, musician Eric Draven, lies dead on the street after being stabbed, shot, and thrown out of a window. The couple was set to marry the next day, Halloween. As Albrecht takes Shelly to the hospital, he meets Sarah, a young girl who claims to be their friend. Reluctantly, Albrecht informs Sarah that Shelly is dying.
One year later, a crow taps on Eric’s gravestone, awakening him from death. Eric emerges from his grave and returns to his now-abandoned apartment, where he begins to remember the horrific events leading to his murder. He recalls the gang responsible for his and Shelly’s deaths, led by T-Bird, who are now causing chaos in the city. Eric discovers that his wounds heal instantly, and with the crow as his guide, he sets out to avenge their murders by targeting each member of the gang.
Eric’s first target is Tin Tin, whom he kills before retrieving Shelly’s engagement ring from a pawn shop owner, Gideon. After blowing up the shop, he spares Gideon to send a message to the others. Next, he finds Funboy with Darla, Sarah’s drug-addicted mother, and kills him. Eric confronts Darla, forcing her to confront her destructive lifestyle for the sake of her daughter.
Later, Eric meets with Albrecht, revealing his identity and purpose. Albrecht shares the details of Shelly’s suffering, which lasted for thirty hours before her death. Eric touches Albrecht and feels Shelly’s pain. Meanwhile, Sarah visits Eric, expressing her longing for him and Shelly. Eric reassures her that even though they can no longer be friends, he still cares for her.
As Eric continues his quest for vengeance, he confronts the remaining gang members, driven by the haunting memories of his and Shelly’s tragic fates.
