Description: “The Collector” (2009) tells the story of Larry and Gena Wharton, a married couple who return home to discover the power is out. Upon investigating, they find a large trunk upstairs containing horrifying contents. Soon after, they are attacked by an unseen assailant.
Meanwhile, Arkin O’Brien, a former convict working as a handyman for the Chase family, is caught in a desperate situation. Needing money to settle his wife’s debts by midnight, he plans to steal a valuable ruby from the Chase home. During his attempt to crack the safe, a masked intruder traps him inside the house. Michael, the family’s father, mistakes Arkin for the attacker and is injured in the process.
The house is rigged with deadly traps, making escape nearly impossible. Arkin discovers that Michael’s wife, Victoria, has been captured, while their younger daughter, Hannah, is hiding somewhere in the house. Arkin retrieves a gun from the safe, only to find it has no bullets.
As the tension escalates, Arkin uncovers a chilling truth: the masked man is a “collector” who captures one person from each household and kills the rest. The story takes a dark turn as Arkin fights to save himself and the remaining family members from the Collector’s deadly grasp.
