Genre: Action;Comedy;Drama
Description: Milo Boyd, a former NYPD detective, transitions into a new career as a bounty hunter. His ex-wife, Nicole Hurley, an investigative journalist, finds herself in legal trouble after being arrested for assaulting a police officer. While pursuing a lead on a suspicious suicide that might actually be a murder, Nicole skips her bond hearing to meet her informant. This leads the judge to revoke her bail and issue an arrest warrant. Before Nicole can reach her informant, Jimmy, he is kidnapped.
When Nicole’s bail bondsman, Sid, offers Milo $5,000 to apprehend her, he eagerly accepts the job. With the help of Nicole’s mother, Kitty, Milo locates her at a New Jersey race track. He captures her and locks her in his car trunk, heading back to Manhattan. Despite briefly escaping, Nicole is caught again.
Their journey becomes dangerous as they are hunted by various individuals: two thugs sent by a bookie named Irene due to Milo’s gambling debts, corrupt cop Earl Mahler, who is tied to the story Nicole is investigating, and Stewart, Nicole’s infatuated coworker, who tries to rescue her.
When Earl tries to kill Nicole, Milo and Nicole narrowly escape. Initially uninterested in her story, Milo changes his mind after Nicole reveals evidence implicating Bobby, Milo’s former police partner, in Earl’s crimes. Deciding to investigate together, they follow clues from Earl’s car to a country club, where they learn he owns a tattoo parlor in Queens. As Bobby warns them to stay off the road, their pursuit of the truth continues.
