Description: The Body 2019 tells the story of Maya Verma, a powerful businesswoman who dies of a supposed heart attack. Her body mysteriously disappears from the morgue before the autopsy can be performed. SP Jairaj Rawal, investigating the case, calls in Maya’s husband, Ajay Puri, for questioning. Ajay, who owns a lab and works under Maya’s company, appears to have been involved in something suspicious along with his lover, Ritu.
As the investigation progresses, SP Jairaj orders Ajay to remain in the morgue until Maya’s body is found. Strange occurrences begin to haunt Ajay—he senses Maya’s presence and uncovers clues that suggest she might still be alive. Among these clues are a bottle of cardiotoxin (TH-16), which he used to induce Maya’s heart attack, and a phone found in another corpse’s bag that only receives calls from Maya. These events lead Ajay to believe that Maya is orchestrating a revenge plot against him.
The story flashes back to reveal that Maya had always dominated Ajay with her wealth and power. His possessiveness and affair with Ritu drove him to kill Maya, staging her death as a heart attack using a delayed-action cardiotoxin. While in the morgue, Ajay keeps in touch with Ritu, and they discover that Maya had hired a private detective, Tony d’Costa, who knew about their relationship. Terrified, Ajay urges Ritu to flee to safety, fearing Maya’s revenge.
When Ajay loses contact with Ritu, he confesses everything to SP Jairaj, pleading for her protection. Meanwhile, SP Jairaj’s team discovers a female corpse, confirmed to be Maya’s. As SP Jairaj orders Ajay’s arrest, Ajay attempts to escape but collapses due to chest pain. In a final twist, it is revealed that Ritu is actually SP Jairaj’s daughter, Isha, and the entire ordeal was part of a carefully planned scheme by Maya and Isha to expose Ajay’s guilt.
