Description: The Bank Job (2008) is a thrilling heist film set in London. The story revolves around MI5, the British Security Services, who target a safety deposit box in a Lloyd’s Bank branch on Baker Street. The box belongs to Michael X, a black militant gangster, and contains incriminating photos of Princess Margaret, which he uses as leverage against the authorities. To retrieve the photos, MI5 enlists Martine Love, an ex-model caught smuggling drugs at Heathrow Airport. To avoid jail time, she agrees to the mission.
Martine recruits Terry, an East London car salesman with a criminal history, to assemble a team for the bank heist. Terry gathers a small group, including Eddie, Dave, Kevin, Bambas, and Guy Singer. While planning the robbery, Dave encounters Lew Vogel, a local gangster for whom he has previously worked. The team rents a shop near the bank, tunnels into the vault, and loots the safety deposit boxes. Terry grows suspicious when Martine shows unusual interest in one box, eventually discovering the photos.
The robbery is exposed when a ham radio operator overhears the gang’s walkie-talkie communications. However, the team escapes before the police arrive. The heist causes chaos among powerful underworld figures, including Lew Vogel, who had stored a ledger of police payoffs in the bank. Meanwhile, Michael X, suspecting MI5’s involvement, murders Gale Benson, the lover of his associate Hakim Jamal, believing she was spying for the authorities.
