Description: Sanju, the nephew of a goldsmith named Krishnan, faces challenges in pursuing his dreams. Despite his artistic talent, he has spent six years preparing for the IAS exam while taking on various odd jobs with his carefree friends. His life takes an unexpected turn when he falls in love with Athira, the daughter of a wealthy jeweller. Krishnan sets up a jewellery shop for Sanju to help him settle down, but an unfortunate incident before the shop’s opening changes the lives of Sanju, his family, and friends. The film revolves around their journey to overcome these obstacles.
Directed by Anoop Padmanabhan, brother of actor Dileep, this film marks his directorial debut. The story, reminiscent of classic Malayalam movies like *Malarvadi Arts Club*, is light-hearted and straightforward, avoiding excessive sentimentality or dramatic moments. Shot in and around Aluva, it beautifully captures the local scenery, including the Shiva temple and the Kochi metro.
Arjun Asokan delivers a convincing performance as the carefree Sanju, skillfully mimicking other Malayalam actors. However, Priyamvada Krishna’s role as Athira lacks depth, and her acting feels unnatural. Overall, *Thattassery Koottam* offers a simple yet engaging tale of dreams, love, and resilience.
