Description: “Teeja Punjab” is a heartfelt story that explores the deep emotional connection farmers and their families have with their land. For a farmer, the land is like a mother, and they will do anything to protect it. The film beautifully portrays this sentiment, highlighting the strength, dedication, and unity of farmers. Alongside this, the story also follows an irresponsible husband who loses everything due to his bad habits and a wife who is exhausted from constantly adjusting to his behavior. The plot unfolds as the husband struggles to reclaim his land from the village Sarpanch, who deceived him into signing false documents and took control of his property. Over time, the husband undergoes a transformation as he begins to recognize the true value of human emotions and integrity.
The narrative begins with a village teacher organizing a show about Shahid Bhagat Singh, emphasizing his sacrifices for the nation. Meanwhile, the film’s protagonist, Bhagat (played by Amberdeep Singh), is depicted as an alcoholic who sells his vote for money. When Bhagat gets a better offer from the opposing party, he helps them win the election, much to the dismay of his wife, Mohni (Nimrat Khaira). Mohni is deeply attached to her belongings and refuses to let even a single bowl be taken unfairly, let alone her land. When she discovers that the Sarpanch (B.N. Sharma) has wrongfully claimed their land due to her husband’s actions, she becomes furious and leaves the house with their child. The story captures the struggles, emotions, and eventual growth of the characters as they fight to reclaim what is rightfully theirs.
