**Storyline:**
In the late 1880s, a British couple and their infant son are shipwrecked off the Congolese coast. After building a treehouse, the parents are tragically killed by a leopard named Sabor. Kala, a grieving female gorilla who recently lost her own child to Sabor, discovers the human baby and decides to raise him as her own, despite the disapproval of her mate and the troop leader, Kerchak. She names the boy Tarzan.
As the years pass, Tarzan befriends other jungle inhabitants, including a young gorilla named Terk and a timid elephant named Tantor. Despite feeling different due to his human physique, Tarzan works hard to prove himself within the gorilla troop. When Sabor attacks again, Tarzan successfully defeats the leopard with a handmade spear, earning Kerchak’s reluctant respect.
The gorillas’ peaceful life is disrupted when a group of English explorers arrives: Professor Archimedes Q. Porter, his daughter Jane, and their escort Clayton, a hunter. While Jane accidentally strays from the group and is pursued by baboons, Tarzan saves her out of curiosity. Upon realizing she is human like him, he escorts her back to their camp.
Professor Porter and Clayton take a keen interest in Tarzan—Porter for scientific research and Clayton for his hope that Tarzan will lead them to the gorillas. Despite Kerchak’s warnings to stay away, Tarzan continues to visit the camp. There, he learns to speak English and gains insight into the human world, while also developing a romantic connection with Jane. However, Tarzan hesitates to lead the group to the gorillas, fearing Kerchak’s wrath and the potential danger to his family. The story unfolds as the explorers’ ship returns to take them home.
