Description: Tanu Weds Manu: Returns is a 2015 Hindi film. The story follows Tanu Sharma and Manoj Kumar Sharma, known as Manu, a couple living in London who have been married for four years but are stuck in an unhappy and dysfunctional relationship. Tanu gets Manu detained in a mental asylum and returns to her hometown, Kanpur, India, after her friend Payal informs her about the birth of her baby girl. Before leaving London, Tanu contacts Manu’s friend Pappi Kutti in Delhi, asking him to release Manu. Back in Kanpur, Tanu meets Chintu, a law student living in her parents’ home who refuses to pay rent. Chintu develops feelings for Tanu while she learns that her ex-boyfriend, Raja Awasthi, is engaged to someone else.
Pappi frees Manu in London, and they return to India, where Manu sends Tanu a legal notice demanding an apology, which she ignores. Later, while delivering a medical speech at Delhi University, Manu meets Kusum Sangwan, a young Haryanvi student-athlete who resembles Tanu. Manu becomes obsessed with Kusum, and they eventually develop feelings for each other. He expresses his desire to marry her and meets her elder brother, Omi. Meanwhile, Payal reveals to Tanu that her baby’s father is not her husband, Jassi Gill.
Chintu, jealous of Raja’s closeness to Tanu, informs her father and sends Manu a divorce notice without Tanu’s consent. Manu agrees, shocking Tanu, who confronts Chintu. Raja, discovering that his engagement is canceled due to Manu’s plans to marry Kusum, decides to team up with Tanu to confront Manu in Delhi.
