Description: Tallulah, a homeless teenager, travels across America in her old van with her boyfriend Nico, surviving by stealing credit cards. When Nico decides to return to his mother, Tallulah is left heartbroken after he leaves without saying goodbye. Determined to find him, she travels to New York City, where Nico’s mother Margo lives. Margo informs Tallulah that she hasn’t seen Nico in years and turns her away.
With nowhere to go, Tallulah begins stealing from hotel guests. There, she encounters Carolyn, a careless and intoxicated mother who mistakes Tallulah for hotel staff. Carolyn leaves her toddler, Maddy, in Tallulah’s care while she goes on a date. Tallulah grows attached to Maddy, caring for her and playing with her. When Carolyn returns, upset and drunk, Tallulah decides to take Maddy with her for the night.
The next day, Tallulah tries to return Maddy but panics when she sees police at the hotel. She rushes to Margo’s apartment, claiming Maddy is her granddaughter. Margo reluctantly lets them stay, unaware of Tallulah’s lies. Meanwhile, Margo is dealing with her own personal struggles after her ex-husband left her for another man and is pressuring her to finalize their divorce.
Tallulah’s impulsive actions create a web of complications as she navigates her relationships with Margo, Carolyn, and the innocent child caught in the middle.
