Description: Superman III, released in 1983, is a thrilling adventure film. The story follows Superman as he continues to safeguard the people of Metropolis. Meanwhile, Gus Gorman, a previously unemployed individual, discovers a knack for computer programming and lands a job at Webscoe, a major conglomerate. Gus begins embezzling money through a method known as salami slicing, catching the attention of CEO Ross Webster. Ross sees potential in Gus and plans to use his skills to dominate the financial world. Alongside his sister Vera and Lorelei Ambrosia, a self-proclaimed psychic nutritionist, Ross coerces Gus into aiding his schemes.
At the Daily Planet, Clark Kent, Superman’s alter ego, persuades his editor, Perry White, to let him and photographer Jimmy Olsen attend a high school reunion in Smallville. Simultaneously, reporter Lois Lane heads off for a vacation in Bermuda. While traveling as Superman, Clark extinguishes a fire at a chemical plant containing dangerous beltric acid and rescues Jimmy, who suffers a broken leg while attempting to photograph the blaze.
In Smallville, Clark reunites with his childhood friend, Lana Lang, a divorced mother raising her young son, Ricky. He also encounters his former bully, Brad Wilson, Lana’s ex-boyfriend. During his stay, Clark grows closer to Lana and her son, and in a heroic moment, Superman saves Ricky from a life-threatening accident involving a combine harvester.
Meanwhile, Ross Webster’s ambitions grow darker. After Colombia refuses to collaborate with him, he orders Gus to manipulate a weather satellite named Vulcan to create a tornado that would ruin Colombia’s coffee harvest for years, allowing Webster to monopolize the market. Gus travels to Smallville to reprogram the satellite, but Superman intervenes, neutralizing the storm and saving the harvest.
Frustrated by Superman’s interference, Ross instructs Gus to create Kryptonite, inspired by a past interview with Superman. Using Vulcan, Gus analyzes debris from Krypton and substitutes an unknown element in Kryptonite with tar, taking inspiration from his cigarette pack. This sets the stage for an intense confrontation between Superman and Ross’s nefarious plans.
