Description: Superbad (2007) is a comedy film that follows the story of Seth and Evan, two high school seniors and lifelong best friends who are preparing to graduate and head off to separate colleges. The plot kicks off when Seth is paired with Jules during a home economics class, and she invites him to a party at her house later that evening. Meanwhile, their friend Fogell reveals he’s obtained a fake ID, prompting Seth to promise Jules that he’ll supply alcohol for the party using money she provides. Evan, who has a crush on Becca, offers to get her a specific bottle of vodka for the party as well.
Fogell, using his fake ID under the name “McLovin,” manages to purchase the alcohol but is knocked unconscious by a robber. When police officers Slater and Michaels arrive, Seth and Evan mistakenly believe Fogell is being arrested. However, the officers decide to give Fogell a ride to the party instead. Meanwhile, Seth is accidentally hit by a car, and the driver offers to take Seth and Evan to another party with alcohol in exchange for not reporting the incident.
As the night unfolds, Slater and Michaels take Fogell on a wild ride, drinking on duty, misusing their sirens, and even shooting their pistols at a stop sign. At the party, Seth fills detergent bottles with alcohol from the fridge and ends up dancing with a drunk woman, accidentally getting stained with menstrual blood. Evan, on the other hand, is forced to sing by a group of men high on cocaine. The night escalates into chaos when Seth is confronted by the host for dancing with his fiancée, leading to a brawl. Seth and Evan manage to escape, but tensions rise as they argue about their impending separation for college and the fact that Evan will be rooming with Fogell instead.
The film’s chaotic night concludes with Seth being hit by a car once again—this time, it’s the police cruiser driven by Slater and Michaels. Superbad humorously captures the misadventures of its characters as they navigate friendship, adolescence, and the transition to adulthood.
