Description: The 1989 film “Sukkubus” begins with the introduction: “A Swiss legend tells of three shepherds who became involved with the powers of evil and were severely punished for their transgression.” The story follows two shepherds and a young man who spend an extended period herding their cattle in a remote hut in the Swiss Alps. Initially, they diligently focus on their hard work, but the isolation and sexual abstinence begin to take a toll on them, leading to a form of cabin fever.
Driven by lust and boredom, one of the men creates a female doll as a fetish. When he recites an incantation, a piece of fabric briefly comes to life and strangles him. The men dismiss the incident as a hallucination. Later, one of the older men attempts to sexually harass the younger one, but another shepherd intervenes violently. The eldest tries to maintain discipline, protecting the young man and refraining from swearing, but even he begins to change over time.
When the two older men drunkenly assault the doll, it transforms into a beautiful, living woman. One of them immediately tries to rape her, but she reverts to her doll form. The next morning, the men avoid discussing the incident, assuming it was a dream. However, the young man later spots the woman in the pasture and returns to the hut visibly disturbed, keeping the encounter to himself.
The following day, the woman reappears to all three men. When one tries to assault her again, he is stopped by the others. Events escalate as the men attempt to have her violated by a bull but end up chaining one of their own to the hut instead. They chase the woman, who falls off a cliff, but she reappears unharmed and flays the chained man alive. Terrified, the surviving men barricade themselves in the hut overnight, planning to leave the mountain the next day.
