From the moment his classmate Ern (Nattasha Nauljam) shared her passion for music, Ped (Jirayu La-ongmanee) has longed to express his true feelings for her. First-time director and co-writer Chayanop Boonprakob injects energy into what could have been a typical teenage drama about friendship, love, and pursuing a romantic interest. The story centers on two main characters: Koong (Patchara Jirathiwat), confident and flamboyant, and Ped, shy and reserved. Despite their contrasting personalities, Koong and Ped have been friends since childhood. One day, Koong proposes they start a rock band to compete in the Hotwave Music Awards, a national competition for high school bands.
Koong’s motivation is far from noble—his twin brother Kay is a skilled guitarist in a popular rock band called The Arena, admired by many girls. Koong aims to mimic Kay’s success, partly to outshine him and partly to attract attention from girls. Their band soon draws the interest of their childhood classmate, Ern, a kind and charming girl whom Ped has secretly admired for years.
However, the narrative takes an unexpected turn when Koong confesses his feelings to Ern midway through the film, causing her to leave the band before they even begin competing. This bold twist allows the story to break free from predictable formulas. Director Boonprakob avoids turning Ped, Koong, and their drummer Ex (Thawat Pornrattanaprasert) into an overnight sensation. Instead, they remain true to their band’s name, which is also the title of their original song.
