Description: The 2010 film “Stone” follows the story of Madylyn Mabry, a young mother who decides to leave her husband, Jack, after putting their daughter to bed. In a moment of desperation, Jack threatens to drop their child out of the window if Madylyn goes through with her decision. Years later, Jack and Madylyn are living a quiet life, but their routine is disrupted when Jack receives a mysterious phone call in the middle of the night.
Jack works as a parole officer at a prison and is nearing retirement. He requests to keep his current inmates until his departure to oversee their cases. One of his new inmates, Gerald Creeson, who prefers to be called Stone, seeks Jack’s help to secure an early release. During their meetings, Stone attempts to discuss personal matters, but Jack insists on focusing solely on the case.
Stone’s wife, Lucetta, begins communicating with Jack, leaving messages and eventually meeting him in person. Their relationship escalates, leading to an affair. Meanwhile, Stone experiences a traumatic event in prison when he witnesses the brutal murder of another inmate.
Jack later informs Stone that he has submitted a report recommending his early release, but the warden reveals that Stone’s parole hearing is scheduled within the hour, leaving no room for changes. Jack chooses not to attend the hearing, leaving the outcome uncertain.
