Description: The 2007 movie “Stardust” begins in the English village of Wall, which lies next to a stone wall separating it from the magical kingdom of Stormhold. A guard prevents anyone from crossing the wall. Dunstan Thorne tricks the guard and enters Stormhold, where he encounters an enslaved princess named Una. She gives him a glass snowdrop in exchange for a kiss, and they spend the night together. Nine months later, a baby named Tristan is delivered to Dunstan by the Wall guard.
Eighteen years later, the dying King of Stormhold throws a ruby into the sky, declaring that the first of his surviving sons to retrieve it will be his successor. The gem strikes a star, causing both to fall into Stormhold. The remaining princes, Primus and Septimus, begin searching for the stone. Meanwhile, in Wall, Tristan and Victoria witness the falling star. Tristan promises to retrieve it in exchange for Victoria’s hand in marriage. Discovering his mother is from beyond the wall, Tristan receives a Babylon candle she left him, which can transport the user to any location. He uses it to travel to the fallen star, personified as a woman named Yvaine, and binds her with a magic chain to take her to Victoria.
Three ancient witch sisters learn about the fallen star and decide to consume its heart to regain their youth and power. Their leader, Lamia, sets out to find Yvaine. Septimus discovers he is the last surviving prince and realizes that obtaining the star’s heart will grant him immortality. After encountering Captain Shakespeare, Tristan and Yvaine confess their love and spend the night together at an inn.
