Description: Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) is a pivotal installment in the saga. A decade after the Battle of Naboo, the Galactic Republic faces a growing threat from the Separatist movement led by former Jedi Master Count Dooku. Senator Padmé Amidala travels to Coruscant to vote on forming an army to aid the Jedi. Upon her arrival, she narrowly escapes an assassination attempt and is placed under the protection of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi and his apprentice, Anakin Skywalker.
The pair successfully thwart another assassination attempt, subduing the assassin, Zam Wesell, who is killed by her employer, a bounty hunter, before revealing his identity. The Jedi Council assigns Obi-Wan to track down the bounty hunter, while Anakin is tasked with safeguarding Padmé and escorting her back to Naboo. During their journey, Anakin and Padmé fall in love, despite the Jedi Code forbidding such attachments.
Obi-Wan’s investigation leads him to Kamino, an ocean planet where he discovers a clone army being created for the Republic. The clones are modeled after bounty hunter Jango Fett, who reveals their creation was commissioned by someone named Tyranus. After a confrontation, Obi-Wan places a tracking device on Jango’s ship, Slave I, and follows him to Geonosis.
Meanwhile, Anakin is haunted by visions of his mother, Shmi, in distress. He returns to Tatooine with Padmé to rescue her. Upon arriving, he learns that Shmi was abducted by Tusken Raiders. Anakin finds her at their camp, but she dies in his arms. Overcome with rage, he slaughters the Tusken tribe. Later, Anakin confesses to Padmé his determination to prevent the deaths of those he loves, even if it means embracing forbidden dark side powers.
The film sets the stage for the escalating conflict in the Star Wars universe, blending action, romance, and intrigue as the characters navigate their fates.
