Description: In 1986, the movie *Stand by Me* tells a compelling story set in the late 1950s. The narrative follows Gordie Lachance, who, while reading about a recent stabbing incident, recalls a childhood adventure. During the Labor Day weekend in September 1959, Gordie, along with his best friend Chris Chambers and two other companions, set out on a journey to locate the body of a missing boy near Castle Rock, Oregon.
At twelve years old, Gordie feels neglected by his parents, who are grieving the loss of his older brother, Denny. His friends—Chris, Teddy Duchamp, and Vern Tessio—join him after Vern overhears his older brother discussing the discovery of the missing boy’s body near train tracks. The group decides to search for the body, hoping to gain recognition as local heroes.
During their quest, Chris steals his father’s pistol, and they encounter a local troublemaker named Ace Merrill. Ace intimidates Chris and takes Gordie’s Yankees cap, a cherished gift from his late brother. As the boys continue their journey, they face various challenges, including a confrontation with a junkyard owner and a near-death experience while crossing a railroad bridge. Amidst the adventure, Chris encourages Gordie to pursue his passion for writing despite his father’s disapproval.
