Description: Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) Movie Overview:
Miles Morales, a teenager from New York City, faces the challenge of living up to the expectations of his father, Jefferson Davis, a police officer who views Spider-Man as a threat. As Miles adjusts to his new life at prep school, he visits his Uncle Aaron, who takes him to an abandoned subway station to paint graffiti. There, Miles is bitten by a radioactive spider, granting him abilities similar to Spider-Man.
Upon returning to the station, Miles discovers a collider built by Kingpin, who aims to access parallel universes to reunite with his late wife and son, whose deaths he blames on Spider-Man. Miles witnesses Spider-Man battling Kingpin’s enforcers, Green Goblin and the Prowler, in an attempt to disable the collider. Although Spider-Man saves Miles, Green Goblin pushes him into the collider, causing an explosion that critically injures Spider-Man. Before his death, Spider-Man entrusts Miles with a USB drive designed to shut down the collider, warning that its reactivation could destroy the city. Horrified by Spider-Man’s murder at Kingpin’s hands, Miles escapes from the pursuing Prowler.
As the city mourns Spider-Man’s death, Miles strives to honor his legacy and step into the role of the new Spider-Man. While testing his newfound powers, he accidentally damages the USB drive. At Spider-Man’s grave, Miles encounters Peter B. Parker, an older and jaded version of Spider-Man from another dimension. Miles discovers his ability to emit bio-electric bursts, known as “venom blasts.” Reluctantly, Peter agrees to train Miles in exchange for his help in stealing data to create a new drive.
The duo infiltrates Kingpin’s research facility, where Miles learns he can turn invisible. They are confronted by the mad scientist Olivia Octavius, who reveals that Peter’s cells are decaying due to being in the wrong dimension. Chased by Octavius through the laboratory and surrounding forest, Miles and Peter are rescued by Gwen Stacy, a Spider-Woman from another dimension.
This action-packed story follows Miles Morales as he embraces his destiny and teams up with heroes from across the multiverse to stop Kingpin’s destructive plans.
