Description: “Spaceballs” (1987) is a comedic sci-fi film about Planet Spaceball, led by the inept President Skroob, which has exhausted its air supply. Desperate, Skroob plots to steal air from neighboring planet Druidia by kidnapping Princess Vespa on her wedding day. He assigns the villainous Dark Helmet and Colonel Sandurz to carry out the mission using the massive ship Spaceball One. Meanwhile, Vespa abandons her arranged marriage to Prince Valium and flees in her spaceship with her droid, Dot Matrix.
King Roland of Druidia hires Lone Starr, a mercenary, and his companion Barf to rescue Vespa. Pursued by Spaceball One, Lone Starr and Barf save Vespa and escape in their Winnebago spaceship, Eagle 5. However, their ship runs out of fuel, forcing them to crash-land on a desert moon. While evading the Spaceballs, they collapse under the sun and are rescued by the Dinks, a group of small aliens. They are taken to the wise Yogurt, who introduces them to “the Schwartz,” a metaphysical power, and helps Lone Starr develop his abilities.
As the adventure unfolds, Lone Starr and Vespa grow closer, but Vespa insists she can only marry a prince. The film is a satirical take on sci-fi classics, filled with humor and memorable moments.
