**Storyline:**
Jason Collins, a college student, is convinced by his friend Craig to let him ship drugs to his house. Jason signs for the package, which contains pills and a tracking device. Shortly after, DEA agents raid the house. Jason tries to escape but is caught and arrested by Agent Cooper.
During a barbecue, John Matthews, Jason’s estranged father and owner of a construction company, receives a call from his ex-wife Sylvie about Jason’s arrest. John and Sylvie consult an investigator who reveals that Craig set Jason up to reduce his own jail time. Jason faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison unless he provides information on one of his friends to reduce his punishment.
Using his connections, John arranges a meeting with Joanne Keeghan, a local U.S. Attorney leading an aggressive anti-drug campaign. Keeghan agrees to lower Jason’s sentence if John helps gather evidence against a drug dealer. Cooper leads a task force to monitor John’s actions as he attempts to infiltrate the drug trade.
John searches through his employee records and discovers that Daniel James, a new worker, has two prior drug distribution convictions. Although Daniel is now living a clean life to avoid a third strike, John offers him $20,000 to introduce him to a dealer. Daniel agrees, unaware that John is working as an informant.
Daniel introduces John to Malik, a high-ranking and dangerous local drug dealer. John convinces Malik to let him transport large quantities of drugs using his freight trucks to save his struggling business. Malik agrees but insists that John and Daniel handle the first shipment themselves.
During the operation, John and Agent Cooper set up wiretaps. As John heads to the pick-up point near the Mexican border, a rival gang ambushes the delivery. However, John manages to escape, catching the attention of cartel leader Pintera, whose men ultimately fend off the attackers.
