**Storyline:**
After witnessing a gang boss, Eddie Kim, order the murder of a prosecutor in Hawaii, Sean Jones is placed under FBI protection. Agents Neville Flynn and John Sanders escort him on a Boeing 747-400 to Los Angeles, where he is set to testify against Kim. Desperate to prevent Sean from reaching the trial, Kim arranges for a time-released crate filled with venomous snakes to be placed in the plane’s cargo hold. To ensure chaos, one of Kim’s associates sprays the passengers’ leis with a pheromone that makes the snakes highly aggressive.
Midway through the flight, the crate opens, releasing the snakes into the cabin. A viper damages the plane’s electrical system, causing a power outage. Passengers begin to fall victim to the snakes, including a couple in the bathroom and the plane’s captain, Sam McKeon, who is bitten while investigating the issue. Co-pilot Rick assumes Sam died of a heart attack and continues the flight. However, he soon becomes a target as well, and while defending himself, accidentally releases the oxygen masks, causing most of the snakes to descend into the cabin. Agent Sanders and several others are killed in the ensuing chaos.
The surviving passengers barricade themselves in the front of the plane using luggage, but the blockades are eventually breached. As the plane tilts downward, the group retreats to the first-class cabin, where they block the stairwell with an inflatable life raft. The deadly situation unfolds as they struggle to survive the flight and reach safety.
