Description: In Venice, Los Angeles, Trish Deveraux, an 18-year-old high school senior, decides to host a slumber party while her parents are out of town. Their neighbor, Mr. David Contant, is asked to check on the girls. Trish wakes up and gets ready for school, where she meets her friends Kim, Jackie, and Diane. She invites a new girl, Valerie, to the party, but Valerie declines. Meanwhile, Russ Thorn, an escaped mass murderer, kills a telephone repair woman and steals her van. Later, their classmate Linda goes back to school to retrieve a book but gets locked inside, where she is attacked and presumably killed by Russ, who is armed with a power drill.
As the party begins that evening, the girls enjoy themselves, smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol, while Valerie babysits her younger sister, Courtney, nearby. Two boys from school, Jeff and Neil, arrive and secretly watch the girls as they change clothes. Outside, Russ murders Mr. Contant with his power drill. Diane asks Trish for permission to leave with her boyfriend but discovers his decapitated body in his car and is also killed.
The girls order pizza, and while on the phone with their coach, Rachel Jana, they answer the door to find the pizza delivery man with his eyes drilled out. Terrified, the teens arm themselves with knives as Jeff and Neil attempt to run for help, but both boys are killed. Russ breaks into the house and kills Jackie. Trish and Kim barricade themselves in Trish’s bedroom, but Russ enters through a window and kills Kim as Trish escapes.
Valerie and Courtney enter the house to find Kim dead and hide from Russ. Coach Jana, concerned by the earlier phone call, arrives and is confronted by Russ, who kills her with the drill. Valerie grabs a machete and chases Russ, eventually severing his hand and slashing his stomach. Russ attacks them once more, but Valerie finally kills him with the machete. Trish and Valerie break down in tears as Courtney watches in shock.
