Description: “Simmba” (2018) follows the story of Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao, played by Ranveer Singh, an orphan from Shivgarh who grows up observing corrupt policemen and decides to become one himself. He embraces a lifestyle of bribery and corruption, enjoying the perks of his position. Transferred to the Miramar police station, Simmba encounters Shagun Sathe (Sara Ali Khan) and falls for her instantly.
At Miramar, he meets honest constable Nityanand Mohile (Ashutosh Rana), who disapproves of Simmba’s corrupt ways. Despite this, Simmba continues to exploit his position, taking bribes from local criminals, including Durva Yashwant Ranade (Sonu Sood) and his brothers, Sadashiv and Gaurav Ranade. Simmba promises them protection in exchange for more money, allowing their illegal activities to continue unchecked.
Over time, Simmba develops close bonds with several women, including Aakruti Dave (Vaidehi Parashurami), who reminds him of his teacher. When Aakruti files a complaint against the Ranade brothers for drug trafficking and exploiting children, Simmba initially ignores her after being influenced by Durva. Tragically, Aakruti is brutally assaulted and murdered by Sadashiv and Gaurav after she uncovers their drug racket. This pivotal event forces Simmba to confront his moral stance and take action against the criminals he once protected.
The film explores themes of corruption, justice, and redemption, highlighting Simmba’s transformation from a corrupt cop to a figure of accountability.
