**Plot Summary:**
Kang In-ho, a newly hired art teacher, arrives at Benevolence Academy, a school for hearing-impaired children in Mujin, North Jeolla Province. Despite his troubled past—his wife’s suicide and his daughter’s illness, cared for by his mother—In-ho is eager to connect with his students. However, the children appear distant and avoid him. Determined to reach them, In-ho slowly gains their trust, only to uncover a horrifying reality: the students endure physical and sexual abuse at the hands of their teachers.
When In-ho resolves to fight for justice and expose the crimes, he joins forces with human rights activist Seo Yoo-jin. Together, they face a wall of resistance as the school’s principal, teachers, local police, prosecutors, and even churches conspire to bury the truth. The perpetrators exploit their influence, lying and bribing their way to lenient sentences. In a final act of despair, one of the victims confronts his abuser, leading to a dramatic and tragic conclusion.
