Storyline:
In a rough part of town, a drifter and military veteran named Smith, who often eats carrots, encounters a pregnant woman fleeing from a hitman at a bus stop. Smith follows them into a warehouse, where he kills the hitman by stabbing him in the face with a carrot and takes the woman’s pistol. As more thugs arrive, led by a ruthless man named Hertz, the woman goes into labor, and Smith delivers her baby during a shootout. The woman is later killed by Hertz, but Smith escapes with the newborn.
Smith tries to leave the baby in a park, hoping someone will take him in, but a passing woman is shot dead by Hertz’s sniper. Realizing Hertz is targeting the baby, Smith rescues him and attempts to leave him with a prostitute named Donna Quintano. However, Hertz tracks them to the brothel, tortures Donna for information, and kills his henchmen. Smith confronts Hertz, shoots him, and leaves with Donna and the baby, though Hertz survives due to a bulletproof vest.
At Smith’s hideout, he notices the baby, whom he names Oliver, calms down when listening to heavy-metal music. This leads Smith to conclude that Oliver’s mother lived near a heavy-metal club. Pursued by Hertz, Smith and Donna head to the club, where they find an apartment with medical equipment and two dead pregnant women. Smith deduces that the women were impregnated with one man’s sperm to produce bone marrow donors.
Later, Smith and Donna are attacked in a motel by masked men wielding Hammerson weapons, which are not available to the public. Smith takes Donna and Oliver to a war museum, hiding them in a tank for safety. He then infiltrates the Hammerson factory, overhearing Hertz and Hammerson discussing their plans to prevent the next president from repealing the right to bear arms.
